|Angel Fund and Donors|
History of the AICI Angel Fund
At the 2001 AICI Annual Conference in Denver, Colorado, AICI Past President and two-time past AICI VP Conference, Christina Ward donned her Angel wings and took flight through the general membership meeting while Lauren Solomon, then AICI President, invited members to open their checkbooks and become charter members of the newly established AICI Angel Fund. By the end of conference, eleven AICI members had generously donated a minimum of $250 each. Thus began the AICI Angels’ flight. Each year since, AICI members continue to donate to the Angel Fund and are thanked at a private reception and pinned with their Angel wings.
The purpose of the Angel Fund is to support image education around the world. The first official initiative of the AICI Angel Fund was an AICI Conference scholarship awarded to Ms. Lynn Yu, Image Management Co., Ltd., Qingdao, China. In 2005, funds were dedicated to underwriting teleclasses for members and as well as for those exploring image consulting as a profession. Angel funds will continue to support further exploration of how to use the AICI website to provide educational initiatives, on-line learning and seminars, and provide ongoing and deeper learning for our membership.
We’ve added a new way to contribute. You can still be an Angel by contributing $250 or more, or you can be a Cherub with a contribution of $50 - $249. Angels who reach a cumulative total contribution of $1,000 or more are elevated to the status of Archangel.
AICI wants to formally thank and acknowledge each of these individuals for their contribution and for believing in AICI’s Angel Fund and its future efforts.
