First Level Certification

When you achieve AICI First Level Certification (AICI FLC), you can use the letters AICI FLC after your name. This shows clients, colleagues and the media that you have achieved a competent level of training and knowledge in the image field and that you keep abreast of current thinking and technical knowledge.

AICI confers AICI First Level Certification on those who successfully pass the AICI FLC exam and complete the application process. (Please note: Applicants who have passed the AICI FLC Exam are not AICI FLC certified and may not use AICI FLC after their names. Applicants must complete both the AICI FLC Exam and AICI FLC Application.)

The AICI FLC Study Guide and Exam Guidelines can help you prepare for the exam, even though no specific training is required before you register. The registration fee for the exam is US$200 for members and US$550 for non-members. 

The AICI Core Competencies identify the knowledge, skills abilities and behaviors required for success as an image consultant. The approach you take to mastering these competencies depends upon your preference. Some image consultants study independently, while others work with a trainer or take a course. Please refer to the AICI FLC Study Guide to know which competencies will be tested with the AICI FLC Exam.
