CEU Program Approval
As “The Source for Image Professionals,” one of AICI’s goals is to provide educational opportunities to enhance the professional development of its members. AICI recognizes providers of high quality continuing education by offering them the opportunity to award CEUs for their programs. Benefits of becoming a CEU provider include added exposure on the AICI website, and being part of a network of top trainers in the image industry and much more.
How Can Participants Earn CEUs for a Course I Offer?
If you are a professional trainer or have designed a training program that covers content in the AICI Core Competencies and/or meets member educational needs, and you want participants to earn CEUs, follow these steps to become a CEU Provider:
- CEU Providers must be AICI CIPs or AICI CIMs to deliver image related programs.
- Exceptions will be made if the individual has proof of credentials and experience in the subject matter of interest to members (but not in the image area). To be approved as a CEU Provider through AICI, applicants are required to submit proof of certification / credentials and experience in their specific area of expertise relating to the proposed program content.
- Download AICI’s CEU Provider Program Application Packet. Refer to the Application and Training Delivery Checklist included in this document to ensure that all requirements have been met before submitting your application. Necessary forms are posted here as Word documents for ease of use: Training Plan Template, CEU Provider Application Form, Participant Training Evaluation Form, Trainer Self Evaluation Form and CEU Training Report Form.
- For your additional assistance, we have developed visual maps and accompanying narratives for an individual trainer application and for a chapter application. Download Trainer map and narrative or Chapter map and narrative.
- Submit the completed application packet to the CEU Administrator six weeks before you want to start offering your CEU-approved program.
All applications, participant and trainer evaluations are reviewed by AICI’s CEU Administrator, Dr. Elizabeth Weinstein. The information in these documents is treated with the utmost confidentiality.
After you have received written authorization from the CEU Administrator and paid all appropriate fees to AICI HQ, you may advertise that CEUs are available to those participating in your program. AICI will confer the CEUs when the appropriately completed evaluation and report forms have been submitted to AICI headquarters.
I use the CEU guidelines even for courses that I am not getting CEU’d. I find the process helps me develop a more powerful, dynamic, and meaningful training.
