Chapter Profile
Chapter Mission: We are a value-driven organization of members-helping-members create opportunities for self-empowerment and business development in the image industry.
AICI Mid-Atlantic Chapter Objectives
- To raise public awareness in our communities of image consulting as a profession and thereby further the efforts of the AICI public awareness campaigns. This can be done by providing no cost/low cost yearly events in the area such as atschools and job fairs.
- To provide a venue to further members’ educational goals related to the practice of image consulting. To share opportunities to attain CEU credits toward further certification.
- Through education, share our experiences and knowledgewith new consultants to help them become leaders in AICI and in their area of expertise.
- To promote and encourage camaraderie of fellow image consultants who mutually inspire, motivate and support each other.
- To educate our members and provide as much information as possible to further our business goals.
- To raise the awareness of the at large community of the benefits image consulting on a corporate and individual level.

The AICI Washington D.C. Metro Area Chapter presents an Education Day 2008 PowerSpeak Workshop. President of the London Image Institute and Certified Image Master, Lynne Marks, AICI, CIM, presents a 1-day PowerSpeak Workshop. This workshop is about The Art of Crafting Impact messages and being heard above the crowd. You will learn ways to create clear, simple, relevant messages, leadership communication techniques which inspire people and promote action, powerful messages to sell your business to potential clients, power in knowing what exactly makes a message hang around longer than the next cup of coffee, and so much more.
Registration includes a continental breakfast and afternoon snacks.
Early Bird Special before February 27th: $155.00; after February 27th: $170.00.

The AICI Washington D.C. Metro Area chapter's first president, Marva Goldsmith, AICI, CIP was presented with a token of appreciation by Vice president, Cynthia Bronson at the November 2007 meeting. Marva was recognized for her outstanding work in getting the chapter off the ground as well as her leadership and commitment.Marva currently serves on the board as an ex-officio officer. The November meeting was held at Bloomingdale's Tyson's Corner.

Past Events
January 12th – Chapter meeting at Residence Inn, Marriott, Arlington-Pentagon City, Virginia. The program featured a panel discussion on the topic ”Hobby or Business? Making Money in the Image Business”. The meeting also included presentations by Evelyn Stephens, Owner, Runway Clothes Consignment and Everette Edwards, Director of Sales, Kustom Look Clothiers.
November 3 -Chapter meeting at Bloomingdale's Tyson's Corner, Virginia. Guest presenter Ruth Bielobocky, Principal with Ion Design gave a presentation on personal branding.
September 29th - Chapter meeting at Bloomingdale's Tyson's Corner,Virginia hosted by
Effie Elkorek, the store’s Personal Shopping Service Manager. We also had a fashion show/instruction on the DKNY fall line by Peggy from the DKNY New York office.
