Chapter Profile
Donna Chevrier, AICI Canadian Liaison, had the initial vision for a Canadian Chapter. She felt that "if the image industry was going to grow, we had to be proactive in creating an impression of professionalism and value for our services". During the first informal meeting with a group of over 25 consultants, Donna shared with the group "the positive and rejuvenating energy, the camaraderie, connection, sharing of ideas, and the support" she experienced at AICI Convention.
The first official Toronto Chapter meeting was held on Monday, March 21, 1994. The official installation ceremony was held on Monday, May 16, 1994 and was performed by Lisa Cunningham, VP Membership.
The Toronto Chapter objectives are to:
- Grow membership with qualified and committed people
- Provide knowledge, education and support to members
- Offer quality programs to increase the professional level of our membership
- Increase visibility and awareness of our Chapter and its members
Toronto is honored to have seven Certified Image Professionals amongst its membership, which is comprised of image consultants, hair and make-up specialists, opticians, designers, coaches and other affiliated experts. The Toronto Chapter newsletter "Image Insights" is produced 4 times per year and is a worthwhile vehicle to promote products & services. The website was also recently redesigned to complement the newsletter and present a consistent image for the Chapter.

Announcements
Each year, the Chapter holds a special gala dinner to celebrate the chapter's accomplishments but also to raise funds for a local charity. Members generously donate their time to ensure the success of this event so that AICI can give back to the community.
