Speaker Registration Information

Thank you for your interest participating in the 2015 AICI International Conference. Below you will find the information you will need for the Conference (August 27-30), 2015 at Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel). We are dedicated to making this conference a success and we know you are too. That’s why we have put together this manual with key information, forms, and due dates.

Documents Included:

Equipment:

Please bring your own laptop as well as your laptop adapter/attachment for projector to the conference.

We will supply a projector, screen, or any basic AV needs you’ve requested in your proposal submission.

Presentation Copy:

Please bring a digital copy of presentation on a flash drive with you to the conference in the event of a computer problem.

Hotel Accommodations

As a speaker you are responsible for your own transportation, hotel reservation, and payment. Make your reservation at The Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel prior to July 10, 2015 to receive our conference attendees/exhibitors special room rate of $159 USD plus tax and fees, single/double occupancy. Please call the hotel reservation department at Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel directly at1-800-MARRIOTT (1-800-627-7468) to receive this rate or register online here.  

Special Reminder:

Please make sure your passport and USA Visa are current if you are traveling from outside the USA.

In order to keep our conference content as fresh and exciting for our attendees as possible, we ask that you kindly refrain from presenting or publishing your topic elsewhere UNTIL AFTER the conference.

Speaker Conference Registration

Proposal Application

The Association of Image Consultants International welcomes your proposal for our 2015 annual conference. Please complete one (1) Presenter Proposal Form for each proposed session.

Submit all documents electronically to Erin Babarskis, AICI Meeting Planner, at conference@aici.org by November 30, 2014.

AICI 2015 Conference will offer concurrent sessions in four languages: - Chinese, Japanese, Spanish and English,  Advanced Sessions in English for Certified Members only, and Keynote Speaking opportunities In order to ensure a balanced conference program, all submissions are reviewed and evaluated by the AICI Speaker Committee.

Please note all AICI Members presenting must register for the full conference.

Compensation

A two-hour presentation allows for one 50% conference registration discount (discount code will be sent to speakers after receiving Speaker Agreement signed document). CIMs will be able to register at the special rate of $350.00 USD between January 30, 2015 up to May 29, 2015. Longer sessions allow for one complimentary registration. Where there is more than one speaker scheduled for the same session, the registration discount may be divided between the speakers. However, each speaker must register.

Keynote speaker honorarium will be defined upon receipt of application.

Cancellations must be received at AICI Headquarters in writing before July 20, 2015. Your registration fee will be refunded, less a $100 processing fee.
No refunds will be made after July 20, 2015.

2015 Session Schedule

AICI Conference attendees have a choice of four concurrent sessions scheduled at the same time. There is no pre-registration required for these sessions. Speakers should be prepared to speak to a group of up to 75-90 people at Concurrent Sessions. Concurrent sessions are two hours without any breaks.

AICI authorizes AICI Continuing Education Units (AICI CEUs) using rigorous educational standards. All speakers applying for concurrent sessions must have their sessions authorized for CEUs. Sessions will be CEU’d through AICI’s CEU Administrator, and the CEU Appraiser will determine whether each speaker has met the criteria to present at the AICI Conference.

Important:  What We Don’t Want

If an attendee were to ask “how do I implement this approach in my own business?”,  and the answer is “you have to hire the presenter,” that presentation would NOT be appropriate for this conference.

Presentations that only provide theoretical content without specific practical application knowledge.

Speakers are reminded that all sessions are intended for educational purposes and to refrain from any promotion and sales of your products and services during the session presentation. We invite you to consider taking an exhibition booth during the AICI Conference where we offer ample opportunities for exhibitors to promote their products and services.

What We Are Looking For

Topics for Foreign Language Sessions (Chinese - Japanese – Spanish)  

FOREIGN LANGUAGES PRESENTERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE NATIVE SPEAKER OR HAVE EXTREMELLY HIGH PROFICIENCE OF THAT LANGUAGE.

Speakers Qualifications: Applicants who are AICI FLC, AICI CIPs, or AICI CIMs will be considered.
 
These workshops will target beginner/ intermediate level attendees, and should fall under the Technical Knowledge of AICI Core Competences:

  • Psychological Aspects of Image
  • Social Aspects of Image
  • Physical Aspects of Image
  • Artistic Aspects of Image/Visual Design in Apparel

Testimonial Letters and CEU Training Plan application will be accepted in English only.

Topics for Advanced Sessions for Certified Members Only

Speakers Qualifications: Applicants who are AICI CIPs, AICI CIMs, and Proven Professionals within their industry will be considered.
