3 Psychological Tips for Image Consultants

December 3, 2018
22:00 - 23:00 (UTC+09:00) Oska、Sapporo、Tokyo

The concept of the image handled by image consultants is an extremely abstract idea and there is a wide range of consulting topics. For this reason, depending on the method of consulting and methods of training, a variety of approaches to the clientele are possible. Meanwhile, it is often not possible to make a clear explanation, and there is a risk of having little persuasive power. But part of the contents of image consulting has been studied as a non-verbal communication in psychology. It is possible to use such study as concrete data and evidence. This kind of application can lead to clientele satisfaction. In the field of psychology, Ms. Abe would like to share 3 tips which are better for image consultants to know.

You will learn about:

  • Non-verbal communication in the domains of psychology
  • An introduction to psychological trends
  • Data for image consultants to understand clients / Persuasive data for clients
  • Distinguish psychological theories, ideas and applications according to the TPO

"Vice President of AICI Tokyo Chapter
President of LicAlor Co., Ltd.

After her graduation from Kwansei Gakuin University, Ms. Abe joined an apparel manufacturer. Her responsibilities in the Sales Promotion Dept. included display design, sales support for department stores and specialty stores, and fashion advisor guidance. She was in charge of color direction and marketing research in the Planning Dept. While on the job, she felt the need for a more attentive “hospitality” to customers, and learned traditional Japanese manners. In addition to the manners acquired as a communication skill, she noticed the importance of impressions and images that appearances leave to people, so she became an AICI certified image consultant. In order to focus on the relationship between impression, image and individuality, she went to the Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences, University of Tsukuba, to study Counselling. Now she is researching on the topic of “Impression forming to express oneself without relying on one’s sense.” from a social psychological point of view. She has been conducting practical trainings combining image, personality, and communication for many companies."
