Email Deliverability Issues: Why have I stopped receiving AICI emails?

Email security has increased through the development of data protection and how it relates to cybersecurity. Predictive technology systems flag suspicious messages to prevent potential malware, phishing, and other breaches of data privacy. Due to heightened email security, it is possible your email provider has blocked our domain.

If you stopped receiving our emails, please use the following steps to identify and solve the issue.

1. Check your spam/junk folder

Log in to your email account and check that our emails have not gone to your spam folder. If you find that our emails have filtered into this folder, mark them as "Not spam." Please visit the support page for your mail provider if you do not know how to unmark emails as spam.

If you have marked an email as spam: If you have in the past marked our one of our emails as spam it is likely your address was added to a suppression/complaint list and has not been included in emails since.

To continue receiving emails you must unmark the email as spam in your inbox. Please see the statement below explaining more from our management/email system YM.

Please Note: There is not a way to remove a user from your Complaint List from the backend of the website, nor is YM able to remove the Email Address from the List. If a User has marked an email from your organization as Spam/Abuse on accident, they can go back into the email that they received and report that it is NOT spam and mark your Email/Domain as a Safe Sender. If they are unable to locate the email, then they will need to contact the Support Team for their Email Service, this could be an in-house IT team for their Company/Employer or the support department for their Email Service Provider (such as Google, Microsoft, etc.)

2. Log in & check your email preferences

Log in to your AICI account and verify that you are opted-in to receive our general emails.

- Go to MY PROFILE, click ACCOUNT & SETTINGS

- Under PROFILE, click MANAGE EMAIL PREFERENCES

.

- A pop-up window will appear called EMAIL COMMUNICATION PREFERENCES.

If you have pop-up blockers turned on in your browser, make sure you allow pop-ups from aici.org in your browser settings. Please visit the support page for your web browser if you do not know how to allow pop-ups.

- Check the GENERAL CORRESPONDANCE box to opt-in to our general emails.

- Click SAVE.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: If you wish to avoid troubleshooting your email deliverability issues via whitelisting, skip steps 3-4 and go directly to step 5. More information can be found below.

3. Whitelist info@aici.org

PART I: Add info@aici.org to your safe senders list

  • Email Provider

Whitelisting an email address ensures that emails sent from that specific address reach your inbox, and not your junk or spam folder. Please visit the support page for your mail provider and search for instructions to add "safe senders" to the whitelist. Learn how here.

  • Email Security Program

Certain firewall and intrusion prevention security programs can interfere (or block) emails. This is less likely to affect web-based email programs, like Gmail or Yahoo and more likely to affect desktop-based email programs (e.g. Outlook, Thunderbird) because they sit behind the firewall for an operating system or network.

Please visit the support page for your security program and search for instructions to add "safe senders" to the whitelist. Please note that some security programs prompt you to restart your computer to allow changes to take effect.

PART II: Contact AICI Headquarters to run an email test

  • Contact AICI Headquarters at info@aici.org or +1 (651) 290-7468 to test your email address after whitelisting through your email provider and/or email security program.

4. Contact your IT Department (if you cannot complete step 3)

PART I: Add info@aici.org to your safe senders list

  • If you are unable to edit your email security program preferences, please reach out to your IT department to have them add info@aici.org to your safe senders list.

PART II: Contact AICI Headquarters to run a whitelisting test

Contact AICI Headquarters at info@aici.org or +1 (651) 290-7468 to test your email address after whitelisting through the support of your IT Department.

5. Change your primary email address

Change the primary email address on your account to a personal email (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo). AOL Mail is not recommended due to high deliverability issues with this email provider.

If you cannot access your account because it is attached to your old email address, please fill out our Email Deliverability Form.
